Poetry is a type of literature which uses a special kind of writing in-order to express ideas, feelings or tell a story.

 

A poem is a composition written in verse. A poet usually uses the sound and the rhythm of words to make the reader feel what he or she meant to express. These feeling are created through the setting and the tone of the poem.

Not all poems rhyme. Some types of poetry such as sonnets, must follow specific rules like the specific pattern of rhyming, others don't. Some poems have one verse others more.
